Design House Seeks Input From Staff On Performance Management
A major retail outlet design house was about to embark on a substantial project to implement a web-based multi-rater (360) feedback system as a component of its overall Performance Management system. They searched for potential vendors, one of which was Pilat.
Pilat met with the prospective client and asked questions about how the current processes were working, what made them feel that 360 was the most appropriate next step, and how the organization was going to ensure that it got a genuine payback from the 360 process. The answers were not clear, so Pilat advised that, before spending a substantial sum of money they might want to reflect; and Pilat offered assistance with this process.
The potential client decided to think again and thanked Pilat for saving it from what might have proved wasted expenditure. A few months passed and Pilat suggested again that a little help might be valuable. We proposed using Pilat’s Monitor PulseSM service. Monitor PulseSM is a range of process auditing instruments. The client accepted the offer and arranged for all of its senior managers to complete the Monitor PulseSM survey on its Performance Management process.
Multi-rater feedback was evidently not the priority issue. The organization was able to go back to the drawing board and start fixing some more fundamental aspects of its internal process.
